One more of drivel

The day hasn't quite started the way I had planned it. Somehow it is not 9AM, and I'm not showered, dressed and ready to go.

Due to extensive coffee intake yesterday (12 cups. What in the name of hockey sticks was I thinking?) without the corresponding knock-me-out bottle of manna I was up way past midnight executing void-of-good-reason changes to my blog's (Okay Apple, how is blogosphere a word if blog is not?) appearance. Thus, I, at long last, have a respectable blog (so blog is a word, just not blog's? WTF?) roll, you can enjoy and it should narrow down the clicks of your stalking my doings (I know you're all that interested). I also finally found the proper application for showing more than just one twitter update at a time (it was surprisingly placed in a file saying 'applications'), so you can know ALL about the pigeons invading my garden (my two main tweets now are either on coffee or birds. Note to self: Get a life). There is also a julochka and tangobaby (please check out how you can help Kelaya and her family) inspired 'to do' list. Easy breezy. Actually, the thing that will take me most effort (besides the publishing to critical acclaim... Any of you in the business? Call me.) will most likely be getting my tooth fixed, since as you can see I have a hard time enjoying a hair appointment. How am I supposed to withstand a dentist's one?Regardless of H1N1 (thankfully, no longer 'swine flu', since we don't want any more senseless slaughter of innocent piggies), I want to go to Mexico to my trusted dentist, to replace whatever fell out (and I consequently smartly swallowed) one morning at breakfast.

What, again, was my point? This seems to be happening alarmingly often...

I guess my point this morning was to thank you for continuing to read my dubious scribbles even though I haven't actually done anything worth writing about since coming back from Zambia - haven't even left the house. And ask for your patience with this one more post of pure nothingness, before returning with fresh stories of such interesting adventures as 'buying coffee, milk and eggs at the grocery store' and 'looking for that place that might sell iPhones, whose homepage I can no longer locate, but sort of know where they are', not to mention 'watering the tree in the back yard before it keels over'. How will she fare on her travels? ...Suspense...

I'm off to the shower (after I finish the pot of coffee and boil me some eggs).

Have a great weekend!

i was actually going to ask how you got that single tweet twitter thingie...i kinda like that. but you're right, it doesn't show that it's often a continuing conversation, b/c who can really confine themselves to 140 characters. they should probably limit these comment fields to that as well. and despite the otherwise perfection of apple (minus iTunes, which bites in many ways) they must not have thought that anyone would want to attribute anything as belonging to one's blog. :-) and now i'm taking my child to riding lessons...see, it's kinda like a twitter update. right here in your comments. only way more than 140 characters.

my WV is shrines. isn't that a real word?

I appreciate your drivel. Probably because it's not my drivel. One's own drivel is always much more boring than another person's drivel. I say, drink coffee until you switch to wine. Don't take a shower, but maybe you should brush your teeth, what with tooth issues and all. Don't leave the house, pretend the world is crawling with zombies. It might be. And keep writing drivel, so I have a happy distraction from the all things responsible that I really don't want to do anyway.

But I never was a very good influence. Maybe you shouldn't listen to me.

julochka - can't help you with the twitter thingy. Too much wine has passed since I found it.
Shrines is a real word. What in name of Blogger??? Are they getting lazy, or do they want to put us out of business?

Beth/ Erin - Thanks so much! Did actually leave the house and then remembered why it isn't a good idea on a Saturday. Can't really bring myself to bump people with a shopping cart and that unfortunately seems to be the SA way...

I'm gonna start calling myself the BIg Distraction. Has a nice ring to it, eh?

It is NEVER a good idea to leave the house on a Saturday, especially to get groceries (that's where the zombies hang out, actually. And by zombies I mean people who bring their entire extended family shopping and then lolly-gag in the middle of the aisle while I am trying to get the f%#% out of the store without killing someone.)

Your writing is never drivel, it is hilarious musings on life and why, no matter where one finds themself, people are essentially the same.

Oh, and don't worry, my word is sesse, so Blogger isn't completely out of the wtf word game.

Sesse: How my friend Dave pronounces the word "sissy" (damn Kiwi!)

Why think it as 'dubious scribbles'. It might just be the making of whatever you consider something 'worth writing'.

And I agree with Erin, it's fun reading someoneone else's drivel!

Shovel some more our way soon!

VEG - See my new post. Are we on the same wavelength or what?

Anandi - If this is it, I'm in trouble. But thanks! Am shoveling away like there's no tomorrow, but then I look at your writing and feel very inferior....

Love your blog. Apple may not recognize "blog's" although it likes "blog" and "blogosphere" because the plural of blog is blogs, not blog's. Just a personal pet peeve. :)

Grammar bitch - That even I get, but in this case I'm talking about my one blog's appearance. Not breaking a rule, this time.

TOTALLY on the same wavelength!

julochka said...

i can see why grammar bitch had that name...only she was more bitch than grammar...pardon me for saying so. i'm all about the honesty. WTF?

Extranjera said...

julochka - Honesty and standing by what goes on is what it's all about.

Extranjera and Julochka: I totally agree on the whole bitch thing, I just didn't want to seem rude on someone else's blog (uhummmmmm...grammar bitch)

Ahhh, not only did I love the blog entry itself, but the series of comments attached to it. I believe you are officially my first blog crush, to use a term that I've read about only recently.

AND you are now following My Camera?! *swoon* Thank you.

Holy cow...I leave town for one day (to make wine purcahses) and you posted three times! Looks like I have lots of reading to do.

I envy that you haven't left your house in a while.

Erinbeth - I do love your photos! Thanks to you as well. Never knew there was so much love in the world. Good to know if I eventually really decide to leave the house for any extended period...

Marathoner - I posted three times, since I actually left tho house for two hours. An adventure.

Ha ha...I didn't know you had left the house until I got the the next post. I started from the oldest post and worked my way up. I didn't want to spoil any older posts by reading the newer one first.
