A breather

Sometimes when you feel like writing something that you know would upset people, you should take a breather and think about it. Just save what you've written and reassess whether you think the post is really all that necessary in the end, and what, if anything positive, you would accomplish with it.

I present to you my breather.

This post is not the one that I've been writing for the past couple of hours.

Instead, I, for fokken first time ever in the history of me on this here globe, will take a grown-up approach to things and think about it before I do anything rash.

Wow. Bet you didn't see that one coming. I'm just as gobsmacked as you are. Believe me.

So instead I'll leave you with a cool little picture and a discussion I and the Hubby had today (and these things are completely unrelated and both extremely random):

Mandela's boots.

Me: When you go downstairs please turn on the dishwasher. It's already loaded. Thanks.

Hubby: So, what, I just set the program and press play?

Me: Play? What the hell do you mean by play?

Hubby: I just thought that it sounded less like a chore if instead of pressing 'power' or 'on', I would get to press play.

The man does have his moments and completely sweeps me off my feet with sweet. And that's an excellent quality on a day like today.

While mine is totally at variance with yours. He has the incredible ability to make even shopping and movies look like chores to me! Life!

'course now I want to see what the breather was from.
The picture reminds me of pictures my friend brought back from Rome. An enormous foot about the size of a small car. I felt the complete sculpture must have been pretty ghastly, but the foot and hand, by themselves are wonderful and very modern.

I agree, sometimes it is just best to leave somethings unsaid. Having said that. what did you really want to say?

Love your hubby's great attitude. : )

i know what you mean, but unless you were going to slag us all off (were you??) (not me, though, right?) (?) i think we'd be able to handle it. post it, post it (thats a chant).

No really. whatever you think is right. you are wise to take a breather.

In other news, I was interested to suddenly learn that you have a new mohawk haircut AND that you like garden ornament flamingoes. Both interestng facts.

Oh, your husband is just like my brother. And I, too, would've liked to know the things left unsaid. Perhaps it was for the better, but it does grab everyone's attention.

I totally think about starting our new (programmable) dishwasher as pressing "play." I never realized it until now!

I'm with Julochka: probably a wise decision, but I am totally curious about the original. Much hugs! And love to Hubs for making chores seem so much less so.

Opposite at my family-my dad makes things, well, EVERYthing seem like a chore. Mom can do the same thing sometimes, but usually she's fun about stuff.

Love the statue picture. Is this your way of showing no big foot in mouth? While I do believe that writing a rage down can be very cathartic, I also believe in printing the note, tearing it up and burning the remains. If you are really mad at someone/ something, why give them/it the satisfaction of knowing this. This is a waste of your time. But, dammit, it really did seem juicy...

wv: sedipsy: the art of choking words back instead of spit-firing them out, smart preventive action to avoid an oopsy-daisy...

#1 houw in the hell did I get so behind on your blog?

#2 So I see that you did not post your mean post. Saw you were considering it on twitter.

Congratulations on making a grown-up decision...just be careful it doesn't happen all the time.
